Bringing Hard Rock's 500' Guitar Hotel to life through story, sound, and visuals. This one of a kind experience captivates thousands of visitors each day, and elevates the synchronization of lights and sound to whole new levels.
This 500' guitar shaped building is one of the most capable lighting displays ever built, but it had never been applied to show. The first step was to explore its capabilities to understand what was possible, and then use this, along with feedback from the client and stakeholders on what kind of story they would like to tell with this new structure. Understanding that the client wanted to put this building on the map as a one-of-a-kind experience to behold but also to give it a personality all its own; a living, breathing character that could come to life for these episodic events that the hotel would become known for. While developing audio concepts, we also engaged VO artists to see if we could find the "voice" of the guitar iteself, alloiwing us to work a script into some shows and truly engage the audience again and again. We wanted the guitar to have a persona as "big" as the artists it reveres.
A scripted show and reactive audiovisual show was created that was both a retrospective "remix" of sorts of all eras in music that changed the soul of entertainment from the moment Hard Rock opened its doors, up until now. The guitar itself would guide the audience through this experience and would also become the voice for all of The Hard Rock Guitar Hotel
